When I'm feeling blue
Maby I'm touchy, but I don't like to use that blue yarn I got from the 'plant-dyeing-yarn-spinning' woman. It makes me feel blue in more than one way.
My hands and my needles turns blue, and everything I touch turns blue.
All my dyeing books tells me, to rinse the yarn in several changes of water until the rinsing water is clear. It takes a lot of time, but "things worth doing is worth doing well"!

Thanks for allowing downloads of your colorwheel pattern! It's so beautiful. Bummer about the dye, but isn't that common with blues (like denim yarns)? It looked really pretty, though :)

I've come to expect that from some handpainters. I now avoid those that do not rinse their yarn properly unless the price is right!

Oy - that's not very nice at all, it shouldn't happen indeed! But then again, the yarn has such a beautiful color that it'll be worth all the rinsing! And oh, thank you so much for sharing the description of the color wheel!

Oh Anni, when I saw that picture I immediately thought I was looking at a knitters worst nightmare - smashed fingers!! But no, it was merely poor dyeing practice. Ah well, could have been worse, but stained needles is no fun. But I bet this little note is making you smile :) As we say, it all comes out in the wash (if you rinse it enough times :) Hope this note finds you well, happy, and rich in yarn :)
always your friend -
